On 12 February 2014, the Peace Meditation Choir participated in a programme to honour World Interfaith Harmony Week held in the Trusteeship Council Chamber. The initiative of H.E. Mr. Nassir Abdulaziz, UN High Representative for the Alliance of Civilizations, in conjunction with the Committee of Religious NGOs, was entitled “World Interfaith Harmony: Vital for Peace and Development”. The Choir was invited to perform songs by Sri Chinmoy dedicated to the UN and peace. You are welcome to visit the UN webcast of the event . Representatives of various religions, including Bahai’i, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim and Zoroastrian, as well as Indigenous and other traditions are introduced at the programme.

Dr. Kusumita Pedersen, representative of the Parliament of the World’s Religions and member of the Peace Meditation Group, speaks about “other traditions”.
